As the management company for Ambulance New Brunswick and the Extra-Mural Program, we’re looking for a Senior Payroll Administrator to help support our growing operation which provides exemplary, highly coordinated primary health care in the right place, from the right provider, at the right time.

Located in Moncton, the senior payroll administrator will be responsible for mentoring the payroll team guiding them through their daily task, reviewing and validating the payroll processes while also acting as a backup for the payroll cycle for union and non-union employees.    

In this challenging role, you will:  

  • Monitor and evaluate the payroll office processes and revise to assure accurate, compliant and efficient operations;
  • compile and prepare payroll reports;
  • assist in researching information for union grievances relating to payroll;
  • provide guidance, direction, coaching in the day-to-day operations of the Payroll team;
  • inspire the team to perform effectively and efficiently;
  • process, verify and audit for accuracy information received from the scheduling system
  • check and code payroll data according to collective agreements, company policies and procedures;
  • prepare and file monthly regulatory and management reports;
  • handle inquiries from various levels of staff; 
  • review earnings and deductions computed and correct errors to ensure accuracy of payroll;
  • Act as a backup to the team to process the payroll as per collective agreements and company policy.
  • Assist in departmental projects


    As an ideal candidate, you:

  • possess a post-secondary education in business or related discipline with a minimum of five years of related payroll work experience, preferably in a unionized setting;
  • have obtain your Payroll Practitioner Compliance designation and are working towards or are interested in achieving your Certified Payroll Manager designation;
  • have proven experience in processing a large payroll (200+ employees) along with knowledge of benefits and pensions as they relate to payroll; 
  • are experienced with the ADP and/or Workday payroll system would be an asset;
  • have excellent working knowledge of MS Office Suites including advanced Excel skills;
  • have excellent procedural, legislative compliance and organizational skills with a high degree of initiative and ability to manage priorities successfully;
  • excel communicating and are adept at explaining concepts and giving directions;
  • have a high degree of accuracy with excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to take initiative; and
  • thrive in a fast-paced work environment where your believe that customer service and positive attitude is as important as an accurate payroll.   

Bilingualism would be considered an asset.
