As the management company for Ambulance New Brunswick and the Extra-Mural Program, we’re looking for an Administrative Assistant to help us ensure patients receive exemplary, highly coordinated primary health care in the right place, from the right provider, at the right time.

Reporting to, and under the supervision of the Project Manager, you will be responsible for providing day to day business support and administrative services for the Paramedics providing Palliative Care at Home project. This position is essential to assist in the implementation and evaluation of this project by ensuring that general administrative issues are dealt with in a timely and appropriate manner.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • typing correspondence, memos, confidential reports, minutes and agendas. You may upon request, compose replies for general correspondence on behalf of the Project Manager or other team members within the team;
  • assisting in the development of presentation materials using desktop technology;
  • proofreading transcribed correspondence for grammatical accuracy, sentence structure and content;
  • organizing and coordinating travel arrangements, meeting facilities, coordinating logistics and compiling monthly expense claim forms;
  • ordering and maintaining stationery, office supplies, etc., following approved purchasing guidelines;
  • compiling and organizing data for analysis and reporting;
  • receiving and prioritizing incoming phone messages, e-mails, faxes, mail, couriers etc. for the project team;
  • maintaining the team’s filing system and keeping an accurate record of correspondence and reports;


As the ideal candidate for this role, you:

  • possess a post-secondary education in office administration or equivalent combination of experience and education;
  • have a minimum of three years related experience working in an office environment, preferably with experience in the health care industry;
  • have strong computer skills using a variety of office software products such as: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and Internet;
  • work well in a fast-paced environment;
  • are well organized with the ability to prioritize workload;
  • are a self-motivated team player and able to work independently;
  • possess excellent typing and proof-reading skills with high attention to detail;
  • have excellent communication skills both oral and written;
  • are comfortable working to a schedule with demanding turn-around times.

Bilingualism would be considered an asset.
